Tour to Ureka

Ureka Waterfalls

Introduction

If you are a traveler looking for adventures in exotic destinations, the tour to Ureka in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, is an activity you can’t miss. Ureka is a small village located on the coast of the Gulf of Guinea, surrounded by lush tropical jungle and dreamy beaches.

This tour will take you to explore the rich culture and heritage of Ureka, home to the Bubi ethnic group, one of the indigenous peoples of Equatorial Guinea. You will get to know their traditional way of life, customs, and rituals, and enjoy an authentic experience in contact with nature.

In addition, during the tour, you can admire the natural beauty of the tropical jungle and its indigenous species, such as the majestic coconut palm and the exotic breadfruit tree. You can also relax on the beautiful beaches of Ureka, where you can sunbathe and enjoy the wonderful equatorial climate.

Our adventure starts early in the morning when we pick you up in Malabo to head to Ureka, one of the most impressive national parks in Equatorial Guinea. During the journey, you can enjoy the panoramic views of the tropical landscape that surrounds the road. As we venture into the jungle, you will notice the change in temperature and humidity. But don’t worry, we are prepared with enough fresh water and refreshments to keep you hydrated.

Once we arrive in Ureka, we will start our hike through the beach. As we advance, you will notice how the vegetation changes around you. We will immerse ourselves in the beauty of the tropical landscape, and you will see a great variety of flora and fauna species. With a little luck, you can see animals such as monkeys, as well as a large number of birds.

Our hike will take us through the Moaba beach, where we will cross some rivers that can become turbulent depending on the time of year. But we have a raft and a rope to cross it. Adventure is part of the way. Along the way, we will make stops at waterfalls, natural pools, and observation points. I encourage you to be prepared to take some impressive photos and capture the beauty of the jungle.

Around midday, we will arrive at the BBPP base camp in the heart of the jungle. There, a comfortable shelter awaits you in spacious and well-equipped tents. You will be surprised at how comfortable they are, and the experience of sleeping under the stars in the heart of the jungle is truly magical. Our staff will ensure that you are comfortable and will attend to you at all times, while they prepare a delicious dinner with fresh local ingredients.

After dinner, we invite you to enjoy the jungle and relax at our base camp, where you can listen to the sounds of nature as you prepare to go out to see the magnificent turtles at night (turtle season is from November to March). Otherwise, you always have the option of resting for an exciting second day.

At dawn, we will wake you up with a cup of hot coffee or tea and a delicious breakfast to prepare you for another exciting day in the jungle. After breakfast, we will depart to visit the stunning Ureka waterfalls. You will see an impressive spectacle of nature while refreshing yourself with a bath in the crystal clear waters of the waterfall. The waterfall drop is impressive, and the sound of the falling water is relaxing.

As we walk, you will see how the plants and trees are different from those in Malabo, and how the different types of plants are essential to maintaining the jungle’s balance. Our guide will be available to explain the different species and their characteristics.

If you wish and enjoy trekking, we can visit one of the most spectacular places on the excursion: The Heart of Moaba. We won’t reveal too much so you can enjoy it yourselves.

After our time at the waterfall and lunchtime, it’s time to start the journey back to Malabo. While we head back, we will make a stop at White Sand Beach if you wish.

The Ureka tour is a unique experience that will allow you to escape from routine and immerse yourself in the culture and nature of a country rich in diversity and tradition.
